Tommy Lefroy - The Precariat
NEW. SEALED.
Some Vague Hope
Tommy Lefroy has never been afraid of existential questions. From their critically acclaimed debut EP, Flight Risk, the band has captured audiences with their candor wrapped in wit. Both lyrically intimate and sonically vast, the band's catalog is confessional and commentative, balancing irony with sincerity. They broach their biggest subjects yet on their first full length album, The Precariat. The album's title track (largely inspired by Springsteen's critical narratives mistaken for bleeding heart patriotism) grapples with constant exposure to global suffering, and feeling entrenched within systems that fail us. "The Precariat" disintegrates into the 'American cities' outro, an idea started while the band lived in London, about missing home while watching it destabilize from afar. The Precariat faces this head on - all the sheen of the American empire has worn off, and there is much work to be done.
