Kvelertak is the gold standard in extreme punk, black metal-adjacent, classic rock-loving music. The band described by Revolver as "blackened rock and roll party beasts," with their triple-guitar harmonies and heaps of lyrics written in their native Norwegian, are truly unlike any other. “On Endling, we tell the stories of Norway's extinct and dying men and women,” explains guitarist and co-founder Vidar Landa. "Myths, culture and rituals old and new come to life, folklore that doesn't fit the concept of a TV series. Vikings and trolls are for television. This is the real deal." The band recorded most of the songs live in the studio, and only one click away, resulting in a raw, organic feel. The riffs and tones are as varied as Kvelertak's audience will come to expect, with crackling immediacy and wit throughout. There's also new instrumentation, such as piano and synthesizer, layered via overdubs. Endling is both the band's simplest and most ambitious work of their career.
